Ultimate Reset Day 2

Ultimate Reset! I can say that I LOVE this program so far! I have NO complaints with it what so ever.

Last night I was exhausted. I cooked my dinner of salmon, asparagus, and boiled red potatoes. I made my lunch and I cooked my husbands lunch and dinner meals as well. I was a busy woman in the kitchen! I then did the cleaning that I had to do around the house and relaxed a bit. I ended up going to bed around 9:15 I just fell asleep! I recieved a text from my cousin who is on this journey with me and she told me that she went to bed at 9:00 and was up before the alarm! I was too!

This morning I woke up probably around 5:00-5:15 but stayed in bed because we all know we only get up when that alarm goes off right?!?!? Sleep/Bed time is precious time! LOL I got up and took my Soothe pills with my distilled water and started getting ready for my day.

For breakfast I had my Coconut Quinoa if you are interested in the recipe I will post it below. I made it to work and I feel great! I still feel a bit groggy but my mood is GREAT! All I want to do is be outside and taking a long walk, but I am stuck in an office but I can tell you what I will be doing after work! Going outside for some fresh air!

I can honestly say that the biggest struggle for me is not working out. I see my girlfriends who I workout with daily going off to the gym and I feel a little left out.......for obvious reasons! I want to move too! LOL I will get over it eventually I think the beginning of this whole thing is adapting to new habits and a new way of life even for a little while......I'll get over it and it is only three weeks and maybe I need a break for a bit who knows.......

Well my meals have been delicious today I loved every single meal that I had today I still feel like I need a snack in between breakfast and lunch but I will see how I survive in the first week with that before I go making crazy changes, I already had an extra taco shell which maybe I shouldn't have had but hey mistakes happen and with the way that I have been craving GUM, CANDY, GUM, CHIPS, CANDY all in that order repeatedly all day I will say that an extra taco shell is the least of my worries.

Tonight I had a Southwest taco and holy mother of Jesus was it a flavor explosion in my face! ha ha! I love the mixture of cumin and all those spices and YUMMMMM it was amazing! I had it with a side of kale and guac it was delicious!

So the bad points of today......CRAVINGS for sure I smelled everything more and I wanted BBQ, Chips, Candy, Gum, Sour Patch Kids but I fought all of the temptations because my cousin sees me as an inspiration and we are doing this together and I can't let her down :) I know that I should be thinking about the foods that I can have but I am consciously thinking about what I can't have......I guess I am human LOL Well that was the worst of it for today. Tomorrow is the last day of eggs and meat so off to the vegetarian lifestyle tomorrow! EEEEK LOL

ohhh look at those sexy black socks! ha ha ha

Les Mills day 3 and moody me

Yesterday was my rest day from Pump, I ran four miles on the treadmill and I have to say that it was the most boring freaking run ever! I ran on the treadmill because one of the girls that I am training is a pansy and complains all the time so it was TOOOO windy for her and TOOOO cold for her so we ran inside. That may have been my reason for such a sucky run. By the way I am a certified personal trainer and I train with my "clients" if you call it that and I don't charge them because I couldn't do that.......Yes I do think that I am selling myself short and maybe one day I will stop being so nice anyway ( I am moody today if you already can't tell). So back to the running, yes it was torture and I wanted to get off and I run faster off the treadmill than I do on the treadmill which was really weird.....I run 8.30 - 8.36 by my house and I can't get over a 6.7 on the treadmill which is about a 9:30 mile.....it is the strangest thing. Anyway something isn't calibrated and I am going to say that it is the treadmill LOL.

I was totally craving and I still am CHICKEN WINGS ( I think Bloody Mary is about to visit). One of my co-workers had some buffalo wing pretzels in her desk and shared which I thought was really nice! I totally enjoyed the handful that I ate :D and it saved me from the devil chips! They are these Rice Works chips and I can't eat one serving of them it's more like the WHOLE BAG! They are so good and thankfully they are made with brown rice and they are low in fat so that helps a bit right?!?!?!?

So today was a good day of course I am moody but the more I type the happier I am getting so maybe I need to vent right? I went to work and got off at noon which is FANTASTICAL, I got rid of some of my eBay stuff ($145!!) and I did my day two of Pump. It was the same workout that I did on day one I put more weight on there with the exception of the shoulders and the chest and tricep part where I stayed at 10 pounds like I did last week and for everything else I was comfortable at 15 pounds! I am super excited that I am stronger than I thought I was but at the same time I was working larger muscle groups so there is a huge difference there :)  I really was looking forward to my workout and was pleased that I felt everything burning which I think is an awesome thing right? I mean who wouldn't want to feel a workout in 20 minutes. Here is my before picture that I took on Wednesday and me working out :) Enjoy!!!! I think I may go out on a run to cure this mood!

Les Mills Day 1 and Food

Well today was day 1 of Les Mills Pump. I did my before pics, measurements, and got my weight. I am still maintaining at 120.4 I am not looking to lose just tone some and loose a few inches on my abdomen and thighs my bigger trouble areas. I just want to get rid of the "muffin top" that comes from my extra skin. I also want a more toned overall look. Anyway I went ahead and did the workout it was called Pump Challenge and it was such a fun workout. They played Lady Gaga's Telephone and other more up to date songs. I really enjoyed myself and felt like Barbie Bad Ass after I got done the workout I sure did like lifting with the barbell it was something different and I really did enjoy it :D I also did 20 minutes on the elliptical, I would have run but I really didn't feel like going outside , it was cloudy and what not and I sure did not want it to rain on me so I opted to stay inside but then I got bored......maybe I should have invested in a treadmill............ OOPS FAIL!!!! I like the feeling that I am running, for now anyway. I change my mind all the time........

I got home this evening and I was going to make faux fried chicken tenders and my husband wanted tacos so tacos won, it was easier to make anyway. Who wants to cook on a week night after you have been at work all day, I didn't and we were in training for most of the day which made the day even longer...we seasoned and boiled the chicken tenders and then shredded the chicken and used this Frontera Grill and then I made a salad for myself and used the chicken and my husband used a whole wheat tortilla. I also made some zucchini but that was a fail too, the flavor profile did not mix with the tacos. I am also obsessed with cucumbers in cider vinegar. My mother in law turned me into it and I can't get enough of them and I hope they never run out of mini cucumbers! Ha ha! Anyway I took some pictures of dinner it tasted OK I guess I just had my heart set on the chicken tenders.....I hate when that happens!

Tomorrow is no Les Mills Pump but I have to train my co-workers and it is leg day for them so I am going to kick their legs bootays!!!! I love training people I am reallly totally excited about it! Well I hope all you readers have a better day with dinner or have eaten a better dinner than mine LOL.

For the zucchini I put 2 TBS of balsamic, 2 TBS of reduced sodium soy sauce, pepper, and garlic powder I marinated it for 30 and then sauteed it for 10 minutes or until they got brown and took them off and ate them. They are delish!!!!!!!!

Sleep and weight

I have been thinking of things to blog about and for awhile I have come to a blank slate....writers block I guess.

I started trying to get up at 4:50 in the morning to get my workouts in because now I am getting half of it done at lunch and the other half hour done right after I get home from work or all of it when I get home from work because sometimes 1/2 an hour is not enough time. The Mother in me feels guilty because I am missing out on time with my baby boy and then dinner happens, clean up and bloop it's time for showers and bed time. So that half an hour feels like a lot on the grand scheme of things when really I know that it's not THAT big of a deal. Well, my days are pretty much packed (I know this is an excuse) Here is my day...

5:30 5:45 - wake up and wash up
5:45 - 6:30 - cook C's grilled cheese, make my b-fast and sometimes lunch.
6:30-6:45 - feed C, maybe give him a bath if he peed in bed and get him dressed.
6:50 - 7:30 - Get C to school and get hubs and I to work
7:30-11:30 work
11:30-1:00 Lunch and 30 minute workout
1:00 - 4:00 Work
4:00-4:30 travel home and get C
4:45 get home, change 30 minute workout dinner shower bath for C then have him off to bed at 8:00.
8-10 chillax time sometimes bed by 9:30

So anyway, I started reading up on sleep and weight loss/gain to try and justify my not wanting to wake up in the mornings.

Here is what I read in summary.....

If you don't sleep well you get lazy and being lazy and sleepy causes you to do a number of things including;

getting sugary snacks, drinking more coffee, skipping a workout because you are too tired, getting take out because you don't FEEL like cooking etc.

“It’s not so much that if you sleep, you will lose weight, but if you are sleep-deprived, meaning that you are not getting enough minutes of sleep or good quality sleep, your metabolism will not function properly,” (Web M. D.)

This seems to be me. Sleepy = lazy in my life and that is not how I want to be. Thinking about it now I am super energetic and more patient after I have completed my afternoon workout....so while I feel a little bit guilty, having a little bit of me time in the afternoon seems to work in my favor.

I think that for now (even though I don't want to lose any weight) I will keep to my 1/2 and 1/2 workouts because I would rather give up half an hour than to be an unproductive lethargic Mom to my kiddo and husband they deserve to see the best in me as often as they can and I owe that to myself as well.

One day soon I will find balance with everything and it will all fall into place, but for now the more I think about it this is what seems to work for me.
