Today was the day that I have been waiting for. Actually, it was the week that I have been waiting for. The high mileage. It's not that I didn't dread today, it's more like I actually feel like I am marathon training now. Doing a marathon is extreme so, I felt like I needed to run more. Now, I am.
I had to work all day today so I couldn't just run while I was at work like I have been doing. I woke up at 4 AM and drove out to a paved bike way. I want to say that it is 7.5 miles long. I will be able to use that road for awhile and I have another that I have in mind for my 20 milers that are coming in the few weeks.
I had been thinking about this run for a few days now because I had to wake up super early and also because I had to run in the dark. It's something that I haven't done before on my own. I ran the Disney Wine and Dine but, it was lit and a half marathon so I felt safe. Well, even though I was scared I prepared. My husband had a head lamp that I used and where I ran had some lighting and that was enough to get me through.
When I first started put on the run, I almost dreaded it because I felt ridiculous until I got about a mile in and I noticed that all of the fishermen had headlamps on too but I was the only one running. All I could think to myself was OH the joys of training for a marathon ha ha. I listened to my Dave Ramsey podcast and just kept thinking about keeping my mind right and running and getting out of debt. It was really weird running with the headlamp, it kept tripping me out. I am sure it will not be the last time that I use it so I am keeping things in my mind that will help me to make my run just a bit more comfortable next time.
After my first 5 miles I turned on the music and when I turned around I was facing the horizon and the sun was rising. I can't explain to you how beautiful it was to just look at the sky change it's colors. Colors that are so deep, and that are never quite the same. That pretty much held my attention for the rest of the run. Oceans came on my iPod and I just started smiling and enjoying everything around me. I saw the shadows of the fishermen trying to get their catch and I saw the canal come to life with more bikers and walkers getting their morning walks in. I wish I would have brought my phone with me but I brought my iPod because I brought my water bottle in hand, I have a gigantic iPhone 6 plus ughhhhh seriously great phone but that is not really meant for runners LOL.
Overall my run went great. I made it to work on time, I am really tired as I am writing this but I can't go to bed until 10......duty calls. I feel great. My legs feel a little bit worn out but that is normal as it has been a REALLY long time since I have run anything over the 9 miles I ran a week or so ago. I booked my hotel tonight and I have to stay a little but aways from the race but it's only 20 minutes so I am mentally planning now how and when I am going to get to the race without getting in tons of traffic. It looks like it will be a 5 AM wake up for us.
It's a pretty crazy thing to say but I am enjoying the journey that running is taking me on. I am getting to be at peace with myself and think things through, it's a truly wonderful feeling. Until next week with another running update.

Marathon training Week 1 rundown
I am so excited to be blogging again. I am keeping a personal journal of my training experience as suggested by the Non-runners Guide To Marathon Training. I am really enjoying that process so I decided to just blog it as well so I can share with everyone because it is true you have different emotions every day and people only tend to see the outcome of the labor and not the process and I am all about that process. It's what gets you there to that point you know? All the bad days and the monumental breakthrough days, they all get you to that one singular point where you reach your goal. It's all encompassing.
So anyway, back to the point. I am using a training plan from Myheartracesblog.com and it is going pretty well. She has a 16 week plan so I am doing week 1 and 2 and then doing it again since I started with 18 weeks until the marathon. Yesterday was my long run day I had 6 miles.
It was cloudy when I woke up and I was trying to hurry and get going before it started to rain but it had started right before I got to where I was going to start my run and I almost turned around to wait it out but I stopped myself from going home because when I did the Wine and Dine it rained the whole way so I know that I needed to train in all conditions because I don't know what I will be getting myself into come race day so out I went. I turned my Garmin inward and my phone in my clothes and went at it. I decided to run a bit faster but comfortable rather than try to hold myself back. I had the energy and I just went for it. I ended up running a 9:10 average pace which I thought was good so I am going to try and aim for that pace for my marathon. We will see what happens from here until then and if I can maintain that pace but for right now that is my goal.
Overall the week went well I ran 4 times last week and I felt like I could have run more which is hinting that I am not over training by any means but that I am right on course. I have been doing PiYo and that was pretty good I really enjoyed the stretch but I think I am going to add some weight training twice a week. A big mistake that I noticed when I trained for my half marathons and what I have been researching is that I dropped everything and almost had to build muscle again because I wasn't cross training SO with that said 2-3 times a week I am going to strength train and once a week rock a yoga workout so that I am working on everything; strength, flexibility, and my runs. Maybe this will keep me at the pace that I need to be for that marathon and of course if I get too tired than I will be backing off some and incorporating more yoga to my life.
I plan on posting my favorite podcasts, books, and running gear that I am into! Until next time!

Jeff Galloway Method
Today I was going to rest but I felt great when I woke up at 5:30 this morning with my trouble that I decided to do my run. I am not going to be able to run on Saturday so that will be my rest day so tomorrow will be a short run. I just switched out my long run and short one.
So yesterday I was listening to the podcast The Running Lifestyle and I heard an interview with Jeff Galloway and since I am doing the Disney race this November I thought it would be cool to try out his method. I must say that while listening to him yesterday I was a bit intrigued.
If you don't know about his method than what it is, is a style of running that over time will improve your time and decrease the chances of injury. For me, well. Sign me up! I was a bit hesitant at first because the prospect of walking had me instantly thinking that I was a failure for even stopping runners run not walk. Thinking like that isn't going to get anyone anywhere so this morning I thought....well Jeannette why not? I mean you have nothing to lose.
I got out this morning and set my Runkeeper app at intervals with 3 minutes of running and 30 seconds of walking for 15 intervals. I thought that would take me at about an hour but I misjudged it by about 4 minutes but that's ok I just ended my run running for a few more minutes. My goal today was to try the run walk run method for 6 miles.
I can tell ya that the first few intervals I was like WHAT. THE. HECK. I just started and I am walking but instantly I stopped those negative thoughts and thought that I just had to trust the process. It wasn't until about half way through my run that I realized the magic in this method! I felt no pain and now 4 hours after my run I am not feeling cramped up or even like I am going to be sore tomorrow. I kept my pace at 9:30 the whole time which I was good with and felt great doing it. Through the end of the run I decided that I would stride a bit longer to go a bit faster and that helped keep me motivated to run until the end. I would totally recommend this style of running especially when you are trying to get used to running and you want to keep going on long runs. I think that I am going to stick to straight runs for anything that is under 5 miles and use the run walk run method for my longer runs and see how I like that.
I have to say that it would be beneficial to set up the intervals on your phone and not look at your watch to time your intervals because then it would probably be super annoying and not helpful. The Runkeeper app just beeped and the sweet lady told me that my interval had started again. I wasn't really paying attention to the intervals after awhile just enjoying my podcast on my run.
I think everyone should give it a try and see if it is for them and if not well hey you had nothing to lose and you tried something new to see if it was a good fit.
Here is a pic of my splits for the run and some of my intervals.
One of these days I will take those cool stills of me running........

3 mile run and Kayla
Today was probably the most beautiful day all week. It is going to be a short post because I am eager to get back out there and read for a little while before lunch time!
My daughter woke us up at 5:30 this morning and MAN I was tired when I woke up but I took my probiotic, L-Glutamine and protein shake and waited out the hour and a half before I could take her to daycare. I was a little bit not happy with her as she slept like a champ yesterday....it must be her teeth? Who knows with kids. This one for sure I call trouble because that is what she causes LOL. I mean it in all good fun.
I was reading my Marathon book yesterday and I got about 120 pages into it and she had these awesome journal entries that she added into the book and I think that I might do the same. I am not sure I can keep up all these blogging days but I can commit to once a week sitting down and blogging about my training experience. It's something that I haven't done before so for me to remember what this is all like I plan to do it. Plus, I really liked reading her story and the blogs of others so maybe I can offer up some motivation and be able to look back at my life one day?
So anyway, I got off track. I dropped the baby off this morning and I seriously just wanted to close my eyes and take it all in because seriously it feels that great out here. It's like 70 degrees a nice breeze and that humidity that I had been fighting was gone. I was a little sore but I went for it, I had three miles in my mind so that is what I set out to do. I got started and crazy enough I was able to keep my pace all along which was about a 9 minute mile. I am pretty stoked about that and I aimed to keep it there because it was such a short run so why not push. As I was almost done I caught a groin cramp that I am still trying to release but it dulled down almost as soon as it started. I am totally taking that as a sign that tomorrow is probably going to be a walk day for me. I was almost done and the pain had went away so I decided that I would try to see if I could PR on a 5K which I think my fastest was 29 minutes I don't know I don't really keep track of that but today I finished in 28:30 which was super cool! I was so excited.
Through out my run I was listening to a podcast call The Running Lifestyle and she had Jeff Galloway on her show and I was totally intrigued by the run walk run method. SO much so that I am going to try it out on my 6 mile long run to see what exactly this is all about. I am going to do more research on it, I think that I have to do a thing called a magic mile where I run a mile as fast as I can and then I will be able to gauge where I am at in addition to see what my run walk run splits are......This sounds pretty exciting but we'll see if I am into it or not. I am not really training for anything right now so it's not going to be a loss.
UGH I did the Kayla workout Week 5 Wednesday......it was upper and core and those are pretty much my weak spots......I probably should have waited until this evening or this afternoon to do it because my performance pretty much sucked. I am just going to leave it at that and just go with the fact that every workout isn't going to be 100% and sometimes you just have off days and today was one of them. I'll get it next time :)
My sister is driving up to visit me and she will be here tomorrow. I really can't wait until she comes! I have been spoiled this summer with my parents coming home to help me out with the kids and my sister coming up with my niece and nephew and her hubby. The house is going to be packed but it is going to be such a great time. I will have to fill you all in on that adventure after she has gone.
Until next time!

5 miles why not?
Today my daughter let us sleep until 7:30 which is seriously a blessing. I have my son home for the summer and she is now sleeping in our room and I love my kids to pieces but I can't wait until she can have her room back!
So anyway, I woke up at 7:30 this morning and got ready for my run and got my daughter ready for daycare. We got there around 8 and by 8:15 I was off running. I didn't really know how far I was going to run but I knew I wanted it to be close to an hour so I just went with the flow and went as far as I could. 5 miles was how far I went.
My run was pretty flat which is just what I needed because yesterday I started week 5 of the Kayla Itsines workout and let me tell you my legs felt a little bit heavy. Today's run was pretty good, I started off a bit fast I have to keep in mind to keep my pace through it's just that I go and well.....yeah I get a bit tired. You can see from my splits that I stayed steady after mile 1 which was a 9:07 mile.
Today was pretty humid and hot especially since I started out at around 8:20 so it only got hotter from there. The humidity almost felt like I had something over my face keeping it a bit hard to breathe. Maybe, it is just me getting used to pounding the pavement again who knows?
I have loosely been thinking about running a marathon so I started reading this book. I do get that I am not a beginner runner but I will be if I do decide to run a marathon a beginner marathoner. I have only read the introduction as it came in the mail today and already I am liking the ease and humor that the author has. I feel like it is going to be a light and easy read and that I will learn a bunch from it.
I will share the things that I have learned with reading the book :)
After I came home from my run I ate breakfast and I showered and I took the kids to the movies. We went and saw Inside Out. It was a really good movie, we all really enjoyed it. I probably wouldn't get it on DVD or anything but it was nice to relax and enjoy some time with my kids and listening to them laugh at the same things that I did and then others they didn't LOL I love how movies an a few adult jokes in there to keep the parent occupied and entertained. I would recommend it though if you are looking for something to do with your kids.
I am kind of running out of ideas of things to do with the kids other than the big plans I have for them to go and visit The Flume in New Hampshire and to go to the Childrens Museum in Boston but who knows what I come up with? What do you like to do with your kids during these long summer days?

I am a runner
Any time that something has defined me with the exception of the military I have silently walked away from it and moved on. In the past I have run two half marathons and running has really been my therapy over the years. My love for running has really started in Alaska, there was nothing else really to so and I saw that other people had lose weight with running so that is where I started my initial journey. I did run in the Army but there is something about it being part of your job where you just do it. You just run. I prided myself in getting faster but when I got out of the Army in 2002 I just let it all go. So back to Alaska, I started running there and joined all the races that the Island promoted, like the 5K's and 10K's.
I was ALL into it I got running shoes and bought running clothes and even got the subscription to Runners World. Yeah......I was a runner then. Then came the winters and I stopped running. I liked to call myself the running Diva but let's get real running in an Alaska winter isn't for the faint of heart and I had only been running for a few months. I waited until the summer came and then picked up running again. I remember seeing an ad for the Disney Princess Half marathon and I remember telling my husband right in our garage that I was going to run that run one day and when we moved to Mass that is what I did. I signed up for the race and geared up for my first half marathon. I didn't train well for it because well......winter came. LOL Yeah I didn't run in that ish! ha ha! So my training did go so well but I finished the thing in 2:13. I kept running after that but then I got pregnant and I had to slow it down and I signed up for the Disney Wine and Dine half and after I had the baby, around this time last year I started training for that. That training was a lot better and I was able to run the whole thing in 2:12 but I recovered a TON faster because I actually followed the training plan that I found on the internet.
Winter came again and again I stopped running, this year I am singed up to do the half marathon at Disney again in November so I am going to start running again along with doing the Kayla Itsines workout plan to keep up with strength training because I believe that is something that you should never give up.
I am excited to be running again and I really need to do a ton of research on winter running and the gear for that and get off my butt in the winter and run. This time I am going to keep up with it and truly make running a big part of my life again.
I don't know what training plan I am going to follow this time I have 2 that I have my eye on but we shall see what happens. 15 weeks out so I have a week or two to decide what it is that I want to do. I can't wait and I am so excited to be able to run again. Now if I could only give as much time to blogging as I do exercising I guess I would be in better shape!
Happy running.

Good times!
I feel that since my "epic" 21 day reset I don't really have much to talk about but I guess maybe I will just be random.
I have been doing Body Beast, I am on week 5 I am taking my time with it if I skip a day I just do the workout the next day. I have never missed more than 1 workout per week so I am a few days behind but I am okay with that. I am working with my body not the calendar.
I haven't measured or taken any pictures. I am not in it for a transformation so to speak but I do have my after Reset pictures that I will use as my Day 1 since I started it then and will just take after pictures so I can get my sweet T-Shirt in the mail for completing the challenge :) I am all about those free t-shirts!
My diet has been havoc since completing the Reset, I have drank more than I would like to admit, I have eaten like a pregnant woman, and I am slowly getting back into the swing of how things used to be. I felt like that kid that moved out of their parents super strict house and was set FREE! LOL It was clearly too strict of a regimen for me.
I have also picked up running a few days a week which I enjoy. Body Beast is awesome but I am all about keeping my heart healthy too, so I put in a few miles mostly on the weekends and that seriously brings my stress levels WAY down! I also started this Squataggeddon Challenge in my office where we started with 50 squats and will end up doing 300 by the end of the month which is pretty cool. I only do Body Beast and the Squats every day when I am feeling like I have a lot of energy to burn I run and sometimes I do this work out called Buti!
Buti is SO fun and if you are wanting to feel feminine than this is the workout that you need! I know that I am a Beachbody Coach but this is one workout that Beachbody needs in their library lol. I like to do other things than Beachbody stuff and I want to show that here. I am not a robot for them or anything, I really enjoy their workouts and helping people achieve the best them possible but sometimes I need to walk away from the workouts to experience other things in addition to missing them. Anyway back to Buti!
It was created by this awesome chicky Bizzie Gold! She used to be a fitness competitor and did Crossfit and was a Yoga lover. After she had her daughter she decided to put her own spin on a workout and Buti was born. It is a pretty greta mix of dancing, plyometric circuits, and some yoga stretches in between. The workout is tough will lean you out and make you sweat! There are free downloads on Vimeo and you can stream it off of YouTube, There are three on there that you can use so that's 5 total that you can bust a move too. I love it and here is a sample......
That's pretty much what's going on in my life fitness wise. Tomorrow I will post some pictures of our trip to the zoo.
Disney Princess Half Recap
My Princess weekend started on Saturday! I was really nervous, I didn't really properly train for my half marathon because I am a running diva! I do not run in the cold, rain, or ice. It's just not for me and I am pretty sure it is a result of me being in the Army and finally having control. I was also reading on Facebook that people were having a horrible time at the Expo which was necessary for us to attend in order to pick up our bib and goodie bag. So I get in the car try to relax and bit and enjoy the ride.
We get there, we check into our hotel at The Pop Century Resort at Disney. We chose that last minute because the bus would transport us to the race without us having to fight traffic to park (FYI there are 23,000 people racing).
It was a cute hotel but we didn't even go there when we checked in LOL. We got there at three so right to the Expo we went. Let me tell you, if you aren't doing any of the other races for the Princess than GO LATER there wasn't a line when I went to pick up my bib and goody bag. We were there for 30 minutes and most of that was me looking at the merch. Seriously the people that were complaining must have been the first in the door. I will tell you that my procrastination paid off this time for REAL! ha ha! After the expo we went out to eat dinner and then hung out in the hotel room.
2:30 AM came quick and I set 4 alarms and so did my son so that we wouldn't miss the race. We got up I tried to do my hair in pig tail buns but I was so frustrated I just put it in a high bun ha ha. I was off to the buses and let me tell you they have like 10 of them lined up ready to take us to the race which was really awesome there was AGAIN no waiting. I was like WOW this is a flawless experience for me anyway ha! I am loving this! So we get there early they have a DJ playing music and they call us to go to our corrals. I was Corral F which was pretty lame because even though I wasn't trying to PR I wanted to run.
So we get to the race line and the fireworks go off and we are running. I knew the first mile was going to stink as far as getting to go so I was already ready for that. I just steadied myself and weaved around the people as best I could, sometimes I got stuck behind a wall of walkers which was really not cool but I was patient. That's pretty much how the run went, I weaved around people and was looking at all the scenery and texting my husband at every mile which made things go by faster for me. Mile 5-6 was VERY narrow you could not get around people if you wanted to! It was seriously a line of people looking like they were moving but really going no where it was pretty cool to see all of us doing the same exact thing. I found myself getting lost in the people, reading their shirts and seeing that they were running for a cause or trying to put some humor in the back of their shirts. One of them said I sure hope that there is at least one person behind me reading this ha ha! It was pretty funny. Mile 9 I felt the blister on the bottom of my foot and I thought I was doomed but it never popped Thank You Jesus! I don't know what I would have done if it did pop. Well I do now my A** would have run through that finish line CRYING ha ha ha! I wasn't going to walk through that even if it killed me.
The rest of the race was pretty much a blur until the end because you get that antsy feeling that you are done but you are SO FAR away from being done which is a crap situation to be in but in the end was where most people were running which was good for me I improved my time and picked up the pace. I wish I had not gotten my husband to be in charge of the camera because we let it in Mass :( so I have crap cell phone pictures but I do have some of them that I am going to purchase later and get them printed out. Once I get them I will post them here so you can see them.
I would seriously do the race again but this time I would bring a camera and stop to take pictures with the people at the race. I am mad that I didn't get all the pictures that I wanted to but it's ok I have the memories and I have the 13.1 magnet for my car to prove it LOL. It was a great experience and it was totally worth the $150 registration fee. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and had a blast!!!!! I love love loved it. Here are some of my crap cell phone pictures :)

Getting ready to run Disney Princess Half
This weekend I am going to Florida to visit my son and family. I couldn't be more excited! It is winter, and snowy, and cold here. There is an expected 3-6 inches of snow getting ready to come in and let me tell you SUNNY FLORIDA sounds amazing to me right now! The reason we are going to Florida is because I am getting prepped to run the Disney Princess Half Marathon on the 24th. I am really nervous about this because to be honest the last time I ran a long run was in December.......I have been running 30 minutes a few times a week but nothing like a long run and it sure hasn't been outside. The next week that I am there I am going to be running my tail off (not really) and doing atleast a 9 mile run before this race on Saturday just to see if I can do it. I am not sure how many people are going to be doing this race but I am sure that it is a BUNCH!
In all seriousness I am excited for the adventure but I am so glad that it is going to be over soon because now I can get the "training" or lack thereof out of my head and start concentrating on doing Body Beast and getting back to a routine that doesn't include stressing over the fact that I have to run a certain amount of miles.
This week and last week was horrible for me. I did 2 workouts!!!! Which is totally not like me at all and last week I think I did 3 workouts.....FAIL. Maybe I needed the break mentally to transition for getting out of compeition head but I am realizing that the very reason that I wanted to compete is showing now. I am EATING and EATING like a crazy woman! Sheesh yesterday we had steak slathered in butter and mashed potatoes, today we had Chinese food for lunch. Since we have been out of power we bought minimal food and since we had steak our chicken went bad and let's just say it was piss poor planning on my part. Needless to say I am ready to get back onto my routine and start the de-bloat process.
I want to show/tell you that even I have bad days still and while I am in my maintence phase of my life I can indulge too much and get out of hand. I am not perfect and I have bad days and I go a week without working out sometimes and that is okay. Life happens just like what happened to use here in the North East! Silly Blizzard.....I don't know why they called it Nemo because none of us wanted to find him. Just sayin'. Things happen life gets in the way, we get sick it happens but as long as you know that you are committed to this lifestyle than nothing can take you away from it but yourself. You just have to pick up where you left off. Anyway I digressed like BIG time! :)
I will keep you posted on my trip and HOPEFULLY have a gazillion pictures for you to flip through :)

Why it works!
I have been drinking this stuff called Shakeology for over a year now and I can say nothing bad about it! I love it so much and so glad that it is part of my daily life! I don't have cravings anymore, I have been able to maintain my weight, I don't get bloated and best of all I know that I am giving my body all natrual ingredients to keep it running at top performance. Another great thing is that I HAVE NOT BEEN SICK this winter or the one prior to that! I know that with out it I would have to supplement my body with so much more. I don't have to worry about OMEGA-3's fish oil and a multi-vitamin it's all in there! Can't beat that! :) See for yourself.

Feb 4th Challenge Group!
I have been hosting challenge groups for over a year now and these groups have had soooo much success I am hosting another one! If you are wondering what a challenge group is here is some information!
What is a Fitness Challenge Group?
A Challenge Group is a small group of like minded people all working together to help each other succeed in their weight loss journey.
The fact is – I could sell you P90X or Shakeology, earn some money for referring you to the program, and send you on your journey alone without a clue as to what eating healthy and doing this program really entails and who likes to workout by themselves without any support? Many coaches do this but that is NOT what I am all about! I want YOU to succeed. I want you to feel good about yourself and I want you to reach your goals and see your potential and hopefully change how you view food and get the word DIETING out of your vocabulary! Chances are without a coach, and without that support group there to hold you accountable, you are likely to fall through the cracks and never see changes in your life. Challenge Groups help people get the BEST results possible.
What is my commitment as a Challenger?
The commitment is 60 or 90 days of your preferred Beachbody workout program, Shakeology every day and a private Facebook accountability page for daily mini challenges, support and motivation.
–You do everything at home, on your time and your schedule.
–Group interaction is all done on a private Facebook group where the team posts each day.
What do I need to do to get started?
It’s SO easy!!!!

Paleo anyone??
** I am not being endorsed or paid for this post **
So while I was on FB yesterday I found a like page for emeals. I went and checked out the website and I clicked on the several different meal plans that they offer and it was really cool. I was able to score a whole meal plan from the website and it was a Paleo meal plan. The cool thing is, is that they give you a meal plan and then they provide you with a grocery list and if you pick a grocery store they can average out what you are going to spend for the weeks worth of dinners.
I have heard a lot about the Paleo DINNER meal plan on FB and on some of the blogs that I read on my free time and I was curious about the way that they ate but didn't really want to do all the leg work in the way of eating because I sort of thought that it was a fad type diet but I looked over the meal plan and it is VERY CLEAN and very healthy so I am going to accept the emeals Paleo Challenge! I am going to start next week.
So all week for 7 days I will be having a Paleo meal dinner. The menu includes;
Asian spiced salmon, crustless herb quiche, maple glazed chicken, grilled tilapia fillets, pork tenderloin with peach salsa, mustard thyme roasted chicken, blackened skirt steak. They all include sides which look delicious too. I will attempt to post pictures of my dinner meals every night and review what they tasted like and show my receipt. If I like the meal plan I may subscribe to the service and make it my go-to meal planner! I am excited to try this!!!!!!

Hurricane Sandy and my 5K pictures
Well since I live in he Cape Cod/Boston area we were advised to take today off. Well work gave us the day off but my husband had to go into work and it is pretty boring. I am not going to run today since it is disgusting out, but I did my Pump and it was great to get some muscle failure work in there. I really like the program but I am bummed that I am starting Week 3 over again but it's all good they are 20 and 30 minute workouts :)
So my day was pretty un-eventful. I have been home all day, I danced with my kiddo to some Adele. I edited some pictures for a friend of mine. She got not so great newborn shots so I wanted to take a stab at editing some of them so that killed some time. I read the Bible, listened to some Joyce Meyer and studied the references that she made in her speaking. I also did flash cards with my kiddo we made a game out of it and I found some of my running pictures online. I have to say that I look like utter doggy poo running but for my sake I am going to keep it as I didn't sleep well the night before and truthfully I didn't. So here you go some pictures of my run yesterday. :) Next time I will throw on some make up ha ha ha ha!
I hope you all have a wonderful day! I think I am going to go watch Hart of Dixie. Anyone else watch that show? It is slowly turning into my guilty pleasure :D

Holy SHHHHH I just did it!!!!
I am so totally excited about this! I have been searching for a tutu and I MUST buy a tiara to wear! Ahhh so stoked!
Well in other news! I started my challenge group today with a group of ladies that are so excited to get on the fitness train and I can say that I couldn't be more proud of my girlies for taking the step to a healthy more fit life! I am really truly excited for them. This will be my last challenge group for awhile! I have been doing them and putting so much time into them that I need a break and need to re-think what I have been doing to draw more attention. Maybe offer some incentives to the challenge? I don't know but little by little I have been changing this into something that I want it to be and I want it to be a learning experience. Not just a bunch of people that do a workout together I want my challengers to GET IT! SO I think that next year with some time off I will be able to re-vamp it some more!
This is my long run and the one that made me think like a lunatic and run 13.1 miles! Oh well at least I will get to wear a tutu and see some awesome Disney characters! I can honestly say that I am excited and I am going to go nuts training for this thing LOL! WHOOOOOOO bring it on!!!!!

If the shoe fits!
When I started running in Alaska I was doing pretty well until I ran a Fourth of July 10K. I never really trained on hills and I was the kind of person that just jumps first and never gives too much thought into the things that I want to do if I really want to do them. Well there were hills on this 10K and I seriously hadn't run anymore than 4 miles on the treadmill and I was big headed and thought that it was JUST a run! How harmless could that be? What a fail!
I ended up going down hill for about a quarter mile and totally didn't pace myself and KILLED my shins! I was out of commission for about 2 weeks. I went to medical and they gave me an appointment with a foot person who gave me show inserts and the works. I saw a physical therapist but she didn't really help me much but she did fit me for my inserts. I started looking online and noticed that my feet overpronate and I needed to get fitted for shoes.....well Kodiak is a small island look below.....
So I told myself that if I ever got into running again (In AK I had big dreams for running a half marathon and local races) that I would go to a running shoe store. Well I found one in Plymouth and I went there yesterday for a shoe fitting. I ran on the treadmill and that went well......weird. My feet over pronate like I thought they did. That means that my ankle takes a lot of the impact and it goes inward to receive all of the energy. My feet then SWING out when I run ha ha ha it looks so funny because my stride is right one and then WHOOP my leg flies to the outside. It is the most hysterical thing that I have ever seen and something that I am going to try to work on but for now I am glad that I got some good shoes.
So the guy was awesome he came by with 5 pairs of sneakers. He told me that I would have to size up! OMG I THOUGHT I was a size 6.5 well NO I am a 7 and I got sized up to an 8!!!! WHAT? He said that I would have to wear bigger shoes because they will help reuce the blisters on the top of my toes and that they would keep toe nails from coming off. Well then I was sold and I am ok with having GARGANTUAN feet for running only......weird! ha ha ha! So $110.00 later.....I got a pair of shoes! I am really happy and I am going to try them on this morning. I also have Les Mills Pump Flow to do and from what I understand it is a Yoga stretch DVD so I will do that after my 5 miles to try these shoes out! Kinda excited but it's cold out there ha ha ha! My first time running in the cold! Ahhhhh!
I have more things to look forward too! I am going to Trader Joes for the first time AND I am doing Scott Kelby's World Wide Photowalk! Pictures of Provincetown coming soon!
Have a wonderful day/weekend!

Les Mills day 3 and moody me
Yesterday was my rest day from Pump, I ran four miles on the treadmill and I have to say that it was the most boring freaking run ever! I ran on the treadmill because one of the girls that I am training is a pansy and complains all the time so it was TOOOO windy for her and TOOOO cold for her so we ran inside. That may have been my reason for such a sucky run. By the way I am a certified personal trainer and I train with my "clients" if you call it that and I don't charge them because I couldn't do that.......Yes I do think that I am selling myself short and maybe one day I will stop being so nice anyway ( I am moody today if you already can't tell). So back to the running, yes it was torture and I wanted to get off and I run faster off the treadmill than I do on the treadmill which was really weird.....I run 8.30 - 8.36 by my house and I can't get over a 6.7 on the treadmill which is about a 9:30 mile.....it is the strangest thing. Anyway something isn't calibrated and I am going to say that it is the treadmill LOL.
I was totally craving and I still am CHICKEN WINGS ( I think Bloody Mary is about to visit). One of my co-workers had some buffalo wing pretzels in her desk and shared which I thought was really nice! I totally enjoyed the handful that I ate :D and it saved me from the devil chips! They are these Rice Works chips and I can't eat one serving of them it's more like the WHOLE BAG! They are so good and thankfully they are made with brown rice and they are low in fat so that helps a bit right?!?!?!?
So today was a good day of course I am moody but the more I type the happier I am getting so maybe I need to vent right? I went to work and got off at noon which is FANTASTICAL, I got rid of some of my eBay stuff ($145!!) and I did my day two of Pump. It was the same workout that I did on day one I put more weight on there with the exception of the shoulders and the chest and tricep part where I stayed at 10 pounds like I did last week and for everything else I was comfortable at 15 pounds! I am super excited that I am stronger than I thought I was but at the same time I was working larger muscle groups so there is a huge difference there :) I really was looking forward to my workout and was pleased that I felt everything burning which I think is an awesome thing right? I mean who wouldn't want to feel a workout in 20 minutes. Here is my before picture that I took on Wednesday and me working out :) Enjoy!!!! I think I may go out on a run to cure this mood!

What a wonderful day!!!!!!
What a wonderful day today was! Especially for today being my Monday. I went to work and I had nothing to do, so that's always nice except for the fact that I had nothing to do ALLLLL DAY LONG so that made the day drag a bit.
I went to the gym and I had the girl that I am training to get on the scale and she told me that she lost 5 pounds!!!!!!! In a WEEK! Now on a "normal" week (every week past the first 1-2 weeks) that would be TOO much but for the beginning phases oh man that is AMAZING! I couldn't be more proud!!! I was just amazed that this girl has it in her and I certainly hope that it stays that way because she is going to look DELICIOUS when she is done!!!! I can totally say that with confidence!!!!!
Well when I got home I had THIS placed ever so nicely at the door! WOO HOO LES MILLS PUMP! I have heard a lot of great things about this workout but not so many testimonials or before and after pictures SO I HAVE a **NEW** goal! I am going to be a success story damn it so tomorrow will be "pre-season" and I am going to test out the workouts make a meal plan and get started and take this workout serious and do my runs on M-W-F I think I will totally GOOD!!!! I am excited to see what is in store for my body! I am also going to make the videos for YouTube of me working out for now I am going to commit to 3 one on the beginning, middle, and end! So we will see. This will be the third workout that I have completed with Beachbody and I am sure it won't be the last but this is going to be my workout until Jan! I will post my before photos and then I will try and blog at least once a week about my workout experience and try to add some pictures to so that way I can stay accountable to myself :D
My third bit of great news came in the mail today too! Ha ha I got my Baptism Certificate along with some pictures! How great is that? I didn't even think that I would get a certificate! It is going to go up right by my diplomas once I get them up whenever that may be! It is definitely an achievement for me. My life has seriously changed so much since I have allowed God to work in my life!I thought it was really nice for them to think of each and every one of us and totally go out of their way to do this! It was really nice and put a huge smile on my face! I am really excited!
Well the hubbs is now pumpkin carving and I totally ditched him to write this post so I am going to go ahead and wrap this up give my kiddo a bath and get ready for some Sons of Anarchy! LOVE LOVE LOVE that show.......it's getting a bit off track so I am hoping it comes back around. I like it either way :D Who am I kidding!

No Work TODAY, time to see the Pumpkin Patch!
Jeannette
Completed
a 4.02 mi. running activity
Great run!!!!!! energized and ready to go to the pumpkin patch!!!
That was from my run keeper app this morning, I ran at a 8:30 min mile which is incredible for me. I didn't think I could ever be "fast" again after having my kids and never thought that I would be where I am fitness wise although, I never really thought that much about my fitness until Jan 2011. I wanted to be fit and get my old self back and that is exactly what I did. I think that training for a half marathon a year out is a pretty good thing especially with cross training. I plan on keeping my long runs no more that 7 miles because that is all I think I can handle on the treadmill anyway.
Today I went out for my run at about 10:00 because I could (I am not much for working out as soon as I wake up). Then we went to the pumpkin patch, it was a lot of fun. My big guy loves tractors so we went on the tractor ride around the farm and then went back to the pumpkin patch with a wagon and picked out a Daddy, Momma, and Stinky pumpkin for us and we are going to carve them here pretty soon.
After that we went to the mall I needed new jeans pretty bad all the ones that I had were either too long or they just fit weird (so much for getting CHEAP jeans). I am all about saving a buck but where I don't budge is jeans. I think I am going to try thrift stores and the salvation army and see what they have.......it's worth a shot right? Oh well we will have to see about that though. We had lunch at Panera and now my tummy is bothering me, I am lactose intolerant and this just happened somewhat recently so I am noticing that EVERYTHING when you eat out has cheese in it and that kind of totally blows. I am now bloated and gassy and it really really sucks! Such is life I just won't be ordering the salad that I had this afternoon :( So sad! Well here are a few picture of our pumpkin patch adventures! Enjoy!!!

Disney Princess Half
Running is something that I have always been interested in and took a liking to since the Army. I ran every morning it seemed like for up to 6 miles at a time. It was pretty rough but we did it. The more and more I get to my fitness goals I have to keep myself entertained. I am doing Brazil Butt Lift again but I started to run with the girls that I work with today and I can say that I felt WONDERFUL getting outside after a really long morning in the office behind a desk. Not to mention I am taking my last college class and I am SO PROCRASTINATING on this 10 page paper that I have due next week. I digress....... Well about 2 weeks ago I was looking up the Disney half marathon that happens in January and I stumbled across the Disney Princess Half Marathon! AHHHH how crazy would it be for me to run at Disney World in a TUTU!!!! HA HA HA!
Since I have turned 30, I have taken on this thing about getting out of my comfort zone and going for the things that I made excuses for and running 13 miles was one of them. I thought about doing it while I lived in AK and now the time is nearing and I am thinking that this is TOTALLY something that I should do!
I ran today for the first time in awhile and I have the runkeeper app on my iphone. I never used it before but I tried it today and it was AMAZING. What I ended up doing was getting into a race with myself LOL it told me what my pace was and I ran to keep it there needless to say what was supposed to be a group run turned into a solo run but I ran 3.1 miles in 27 minutes which was pretty cool! I think I am going to keep this up and see if I can get through the next two weeks (I'm going to San Diego and FL) with running whenever I can. If I can keep up with it and not face any injuries at running 3 times a week than we shall see what happens! I am totally excited! I can't wait to let you know if I am going to register or not!
TO GETTING OUT OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE!!!! AND TO BEING 30!!!!!!!!!!
Have a wonderful day!!!!!
