It's a question that I am asked often when it comes to fitting in my workouts. My answer, I do it when I can but make sure I get it done that day.
I used to have a set time to workout but I have not yet found my groove at my current duty station so things switch around. I love waking up in the morning and getting my workout knocked out and I would LOVE to do that but at this time my pregnant behind would have to wake up at 4:30 just to get the workout it and that would mean sacrificing family time by going to bed at 7. So, I now either workout during my lunch break (my job gives me 90 min) or right after work. Since I am doing Chalean Extreme the 30 minutes of quiet time after work to get my workout in really works for me and on the weekends I do my workout 1 hour after eating breakfast whenever it is that I wake up and actually get to it so it's anywhere between 9-11 in the mornings.
I have a few tips that may help you find your groove to finding time to get your workout in.
Write out your schedule - List everything that you do so that you can see what your day looks like.
Look for an open spot - Look for an open spot in your schedule if it is something like TV time or quiet time maybe try adding your workout in there giving up 30-60 minutes of your TV time to change your life is totally worth it.
Schedule your workout - Fit the time in for your workout and make it non-negotiable NO IF AND OR BUTS it is your workout time unless something comes up like a vacation, a sick child, you are sick, or something else that can deter you. It becomes your job your workout is something that you HAVE to do because you HAVE to take care of your body and health.
Have a back-up plan - Things happen we all know this life waits for no one so always have a plan B in mind. If I know that I can't workout at 5 PM than I make the time during lunch to workout or I will get up in the morning to get it done or switch my rest day if neither works out with my daily things to do that day or I just cancel on my girls night out but that would probably be when trying to lose this baby weight ha ha!
If you want to succeed than you will do what you have to do to make things work. You would take another shift at work just to get some extra cash to make ends meet or for some Christmas money think of your workout in that way. It is something that you have to do and is a component of a healthy lifestyle.
How bad do you want it and how far are you willing to go to go get it? Maybe you should revisit your goals and why you started this healthy lifestyle and relight your fire to get there.

20 Week Bumpdate
Symptoms: This week I have felt really good. I have found that laying on my back is a serious no no especially laying on the floor. Go ahead call me hardheaded and stubborn because I wouldn't disagree with you :) I have not felt that tired or without energy I feel pretty normal.
Weight/Belly: I am up 10 -11 pounds depending on the day. I still manage to eat pretty good food for the most part 4-5 out of the 6 meals I eat are in the healthy range. Today I had fish tacos for lunch they weren't that great so I ate all the fish and left half the taco. Yesterday I had pancakes for dinner and ate two of them.....I wasn't too hungry last night. I can say that I am not ravenous that's for sure. No guilt here I just try to do the best I can but I am pregnant and this will be the last time so you will find me splurging here and there mostly on decadent foods ;)
Maternity Clothes: I am wearing maternity jeans when I go out to church but I am 95% using my clothes or I have bought a bigger size in 2-3 things. All my shirts are non-maternity though. WOW I can actually say that this pregnancy. I am still wearing my regular work uniform, I have the maternity ones ready to go but I am not big enough for them yet.
Movement: Everyday!!!! After I eat mostly. She is such a doll. It's starting to feel real now and believe me I can't believe it has taken me half this pregnancy to come to the reality of my baby in there!
Sleep: Like a CHAMP! I can proudly say that this being my third pregnancy I RARLEY wake up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom.
Cravings: This week.......cake pound cake with strawberries to be exact, raisins, and peppermint gum.
Workouts: Chalean Extreme is still going strong. I am finishing up the first month. I am also adding Turbofire in there on that additional rest day and some weight days on the weekends when I have more energy.
Best moment of the week: My husband got to feel the baby move on Sunday. It wasn't the moment we wanted as we looked at each other in shock that he felt the baby my son started jumping all over my husband.......ruined moment for sure LOL
Goals for next week: To finish every workout and manage to bring my lunch to work for the rest of the pregnancy......
Thoughts: I can't believe I am having a baby in 5 short months! I am so anxious and excited and ready to hold my little one. I day dream about her daily and I think about what type of person she is going to be and how her brothers are going to LOVE her. It makes me smile. I am also ready to get outside and take some walks instead of being cooped up in the house all evening. I am very very excited to get out there and walk during my lunch breaks and be out in the fresh air oh yes and to wear some dresses and skirts!!!!!

My meal plan and workouts for the week
Starting today I thought that I would start posting a weekly meal plan
and my workout plan for the week to 1 let you all know what it is that I
do in my life and 2 to be accountable to myself.
I usually meal plan because it helps me save money when I grocery shop as I always buy garbage that I don't need or think that I want to eat and then never do...speaking of which I kind of need to clean out my pantry. That darn thing is so small I can never truly see what's in it but I digress. It saves me money, I buy only the things that I need and I have a HEALTHY plan of what I am going to eat rather than eating pancakes for dinner like I shamelessly did last week! Yes! 2 times to be exact.
So here is my meal plan for the next week :) Of course thanksgiving is in there and we will have not healthy foods on Thanksgiving but I have already added that in as my cheat meal.
Workouts :
Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday Sunday
Fire 45 Fire 30 Rest Fire 30 Fire 55 EZ Fire 45 Core 20
Sculpt 30 Tone 30 Stretch 40
Meal plan will be :)
So there it is. I am on week 2 of Turbofire and I am really enjoying it. I obviously don't see any changes but I am having fun with it and I am feeling the burn of doing the workouts.
I am running a challenge group for 5 days on the day after Thanksgiving, if you are interested please email me at jeannettealverio(at)yahoo(dot)com.

Work it out! T25 Info
I just finished week 2 of Insanity and I can say that I am hella happy
that I am slowly getting through this thing. It's weeks 6-9 that are
going to be the killer lol.
My eating is getting better and my abdomen is looking better than ever. I have lost 7 inches all over since starting the program and THAT makes me excited. My weight is still fluctuating from 122-124 which I am okay with because salt and I have issues.....I am not too big on the scale thing I just want to stay in my sz 4s and not have anything floating over when I am standing up or having my upper thighs be stuffed like sausages in my jeans.
I am a pear shape and I primarily carry all of my weight in my upper thighs and abdomen when I do gain it so, me keeping at a certain size keeps those bad boys in check.
I recently buckled and bought Shaun T's new workout T25, I really want to try it but I desperately want to be an Insanity graduate because I have done the darn thing 3 times with bailing on the 2 weeks to first month. I realized that Body Beast is not for me and bulking is not where I want to go in my fitness adventures so I will leave that to my husband to have ;) it's all good it is not for everybody and that is a ok with me :) I love the fact that I don't have to use any weights because I seriously am so cheap I don't want to go and buy 20 lb dumbbells ha ha ha! I know.....issues!
So what is T25 all about?? I don't really know what the workout involves because I don't have it in hands I just bought it and it will be in the mail shortly BUT what I do know is this....
It's selling out!
It's a 25 minute workout
5 days a week Hello weekends off for REST DAYS!!!!!
3 phases 4 weeks long Alpha, Beta, and Gamma (GAMMA is sold separately)
It includes HIIT training and core training
The price???
$119.95 regular price
$89.95 coach price ;) (THAT right there is WHY I am a coach!) and
$180 for the T25 and Shakeology which is the best deal and I can't get that deal (insert tantrum) because I am a coach already and you can only get it when you are a new customer hint hint if you want the benefits of being a coach a challenge pack is the way to go because you get the $40 membership fee waived and you get the 25% discount! Basically you are getting T25 and the shakes and save $60!!!!!! BLAHHH where was this when I signed up!?!??! Here is a video in case you are wondering what it is about :)
I was thinking about putting a challenge group together for this because I want to do it with my challengers.....we'll have to see though.

Sunday Session @ CS Fitness!!!!
So at first it was like being in an elevator where you are looking around trying to avoid people and eye contact. One of the girls said hello to me and we hit it off right away and I felt so much more at ease. She told me about her first competition after the birth of her son and how I am starting at a good place and what not. THEN we started!
It was all good at first a few sprint drills, walking up and down the gym much like they are in the video. Then it was ALL IN THE LEGS! HOLY CULO! It was intense! I thought I was going to get sick one time! I wouldn't let myself do it. 1.) The other girls weren't and 2.) I am competing against some of these girls. NO WAY I am going to WIN! ha ha ha! Maybe not really but I pride myself in my fitness and I am NOT going to give up even though for real I wanted to sit the hell down and breath! WOWZA is all I can say. So check this out! This chick is tricky! She almost cools us down right (I can breathe again) and then we start on freaking squat thingies and lateral hops to the side and plie squats in bouces OH MY LORD my legs were not thinking at that point! SHEESH she got me good! ha ha ha!
Then it was off to posing. I had more fun there and realized THIS is what I am here for! TO get in the best shape of my life, get into those heels and rock the HELL out of that swimsuit for myself and the people that are watching me! I realized right there and then when I saw myself walk that I wanted this! No more skipping meals, no more not planning. I am IN THIS I am going to freaking compete and be a ROCKSTAR!!!! I am so excited that I found this team and glad to be a part of such wonderful women!!!!!! AMAZING!

Les Mills Day 1 and Food
Well today was day 1 of Les Mills Pump. I did my before pics, measurements, and got my weight. I am still maintaining at 120.4 I am not looking to lose just tone some and loose a few inches on my abdomen and thighs my bigger trouble areas. I just want to get rid of the "muffin top" that comes from my extra skin. I also want a more toned overall look. Anyway I went ahead and did the workout it was called Pump Challenge and it was such a fun workout. They played Lady Gaga's Telephone and other more up to date songs. I really enjoyed myself and felt like Barbie Bad Ass after I got done the workout I sure did like lifting with the barbell it was something different and I really did enjoy it :D I also did 20 minutes on the elliptical, I would have run but I really didn't feel like going outside , it was cloudy and what not and I sure did not want it to rain on me so I opted to stay inside but then I got bored......maybe I should have invested in a treadmill............ OOPS FAIL!!!! I like the feeling that I am running, for now anyway. I change my mind all the time........
I got home this evening and I was going to make faux fried chicken tenders and my husband wanted tacos so tacos won, it was easier to make anyway. Who wants to cook on a week night after you have been at work all day, I didn't and we were in training for most of the day which made the day even longer...we seasoned and boiled the chicken tenders and then shredded the chicken and used this Frontera Grill and then I made a salad for myself and used the chicken and my husband used a whole wheat tortilla. I also made some zucchini but that was a fail too, the flavor profile did not mix with the tacos. I am also obsessed with cucumbers in cider vinegar. My mother in law turned me into it and I can't get enough of them and I hope they never run out of mini cucumbers! Ha ha! Anyway I took some pictures of dinner it tasted OK I guess I just had my heart set on the chicken tenders.....I hate when that happens!
Tomorrow is no Les Mills Pump but I have to train my co-workers and it is leg day for them so I am going to kick their legs bootays!!!! I love training people I am reallly totally excited about it! Well I hope all you readers have a better day with dinner or have eaten a better dinner than mine LOL.
For the zucchini I put 2 TBS of balsamic, 2 TBS of reduced sodium soy sauce, pepper, and garlic powder I marinated it for 30 and then sauteed it for 10 minutes or until they got brown and took them off and ate them. They are delish!!!!!!!!

What a wonderful day!!!!!!
What a wonderful day today was! Especially for today being my Monday. I went to work and I had nothing to do, so that's always nice except for the fact that I had nothing to do ALLLLL DAY LONG so that made the day drag a bit.
I went to the gym and I had the girl that I am training to get on the scale and she told me that she lost 5 pounds!!!!!!! In a WEEK! Now on a "normal" week (every week past the first 1-2 weeks) that would be TOO much but for the beginning phases oh man that is AMAZING! I couldn't be more proud!!! I was just amazed that this girl has it in her and I certainly hope that it stays that way because she is going to look DELICIOUS when she is done!!!! I can totally say that with confidence!!!!!
Well when I got home I had THIS placed ever so nicely at the door! WOO HOO LES MILLS PUMP! I have heard a lot of great things about this workout but not so many testimonials or before and after pictures SO I HAVE a **NEW** goal! I am going to be a success story damn it so tomorrow will be "pre-season" and I am going to test out the workouts make a meal plan and get started and take this workout serious and do my runs on M-W-F I think I will totally GOOD!!!! I am excited to see what is in store for my body! I am also going to make the videos for YouTube of me working out for now I am going to commit to 3 one on the beginning, middle, and end! So we will see. This will be the third workout that I have completed with Beachbody and I am sure it won't be the last but this is going to be my workout until Jan! I will post my before photos and then I will try and blog at least once a week about my workout experience and try to add some pictures to so that way I can stay accountable to myself :D
My third bit of great news came in the mail today too! Ha ha I got my Baptism Certificate along with some pictures! How great is that? I didn't even think that I would get a certificate! It is going to go up right by my diplomas once I get them up whenever that may be! It is definitely an achievement for me. My life has seriously changed so much since I have allowed God to work in my life!I thought it was really nice for them to think of each and every one of us and totally go out of their way to do this! It was really nice and put a huge smile on my face! I am really excited!
Well the hubbs is now pumpkin carving and I totally ditched him to write this post so I am going to go ahead and wrap this up give my kiddo a bath and get ready for some Sons of Anarchy! LOVE LOVE LOVE that show.......it's getting a bit off track so I am hoping it comes back around. I like it either way :D Who am I kidding!

Commitment
Commitment, what a huge word huh? It can have so many meanings to different people so what is it all about?
I have been having a hard time staying committed to working out on a schedule. If you know me super personally people know that I am not one that likes things out of whack and what not. I like things in a pretty little row, where they are supposed to be, I like things to be done on time, and I prefer a routine.
I have been finding that living in America and not 5 minutes from my job takes a lot of effort to work out. I have to get up at 5:30 for work, then I work all day and come home to cook dinner because most times I am getting hungry as I walk in the door. I am no longer committed to my results, my health, or my fitness/life plan. There has been a shift and I am trying to get it worked out and find a solution to my problem so that I can once again be committed to my life, goals, and desires!
1.) I have to stay focused. I try to do too many things at once instead of doing everything one thing at a time. I need to be more patient and focused.
2.) I need to really remember why I am doing this for the long term.
3.) I am going to start preparing my meats etc on Sunday's and make that a bulk cooking day and eat what I actually set aside.
4.) I am not going to follow I am going to lead myself and family back into the healthy healthful meals.
5.) I am going to be committed to my 5 AM workouts and choose a routine that is between 30-45 minutes 5-6 days a week and stick to that schedule.
6.) Put everything that I have into what I do! :)
This is my before and after and I need to remember WHY I started this journey of health for myself and family!!!!
What is your why? Do you have problems with commitment in a part of your life?

Sleep and weight
I have been thinking of things to blog about and for awhile I have come to a blank slate....writers block I guess.
I started trying to get up at 4:50 in the morning to get my workouts in because now I am getting half of it done at lunch and the other half hour done right after I get home from work or all of it when I get home from work because sometimes 1/2 an hour is not enough time. The Mother in me feels guilty because I am missing out on time with my baby boy and then dinner happens, clean up and bloop it's time for showers and bed time. So that half an hour feels like a lot on the grand scheme of things when really I know that it's not THAT big of a deal. Well, my days are pretty much packed (I know this is an excuse) Here is my day...
5:30 5:45 - wake up and wash up
5:45 - 6:30 - cook C's grilled cheese, make my b-fast and sometimes lunch.
6:30-6:45 - feed C, maybe give him a bath if he peed in bed and get him dressed.
6:50 - 7:30 - Get C to school and get hubs and I to work
7:30-11:30 work
11:30-1:00 Lunch and 30 minute workout
1:00 - 4:00 Work
4:00-4:30 travel home and get C
4:45 get home, change 30 minute workout dinner shower bath for C then have him off to bed at 8:00.
8-10 chillax time sometimes bed by 9:30
So anyway, I started reading up on sleep and weight loss/gain to try and justify my not wanting to wake up in the mornings.
Here is what I read in summary.....
If you don't sleep well you get lazy and being lazy and sleepy causes you to do a number of things including;
getting sugary snacks, drinking more coffee, skipping a workout because you are too tired, getting take out because you don't FEEL like cooking etc.
“It’s not so much that if you sleep, you will lose weight, but if you are sleep-deprived, meaning that you are not getting enough minutes of sleep or good quality sleep, your metabolism will not function properly,” (Web M. D.)
This seems to be me. Sleepy = lazy in my life and that is not how I want to be. Thinking about it now I am super energetic and more patient after I have completed my afternoon workout....so while I feel a little bit guilty, having a little bit of me time in the afternoon seems to work in my favor.
I think that for now (even though I don't want to lose any weight) I will keep to my 1/2 and 1/2 workouts because I would rather give up half an hour than to be an unproductive lethargic Mom to my kiddo and husband they deserve to see the best in me as often as they can and I owe that to myself as well.
One day soon I will find balance with everything and it will all fall into place, but for now the more I think about it this is what seems to work for me.
I started trying to get up at 4:50 in the morning to get my workouts in because now I am getting half of it done at lunch and the other half hour done right after I get home from work or all of it when I get home from work because sometimes 1/2 an hour is not enough time. getting sugary snacks, drinking more coffee, skipping a workout because you are too tired, getting take out because you don't FEEL like cooking etc.
