What exactly is a challenge group?

I post for challenge groups on my Facebook page and here often because I run them monthly. I didn't even realize that many may not even know what I am talking about. It's kind of like the military where I talk about a SPO or the PX people outside of the military mostly have no idea what it is that I am talking about. 

Maybe you just have no idea what it is that I am talking about at all and if you are a researcher like me you want more information but everywhere you look it is almost secret squirrel. I know this because I was the SAME WAY!

Obviously I am a Beachbody Coach so sometime I will post for a free 7 day challenge group or a group specific to a program that Beachbody offers. When you sign up for them there are some requirements that enable you to join the group. 

1.) You sign up to my email list and make me your coach.
2.) I need to know why you need help. If I don't know what your goals are I can't exactly help you get there. 
3.) You purchase the challenge pack if there is a purchase necessary. 

That gets you into the group!

You hear me talk about putting you in a private group and that I will support you and motivate you and help to keep you accountable and what not and that's all great right but what does that mean???

Keeping you accountable - It is required that you participate in the group. I am NOT the coach that is going to have you purchase a product and leave you hanging out in the wind never seeing how you are doing. You are not commission to me you ARE MY MISSION. My goal is to help you succeed and my intent is to get you to know that I am there for you when you screw up and when you are just having a bad day. I will keep you accountable in the group but if you need that extra text or FB message to see if you did that workout and ate right than I am that girl. My job to keep you motivated your job PARTICIPATE! If you don't than I CAN'T HELP YOU and you probably won't help yourself. 

Motivation - This is where I may post quotes and help you think of things in a more positive light. You are making a LIFE change and we need to rework your habits! SO I help you do that by keeping you motivated with quotes, success stories, and activities that will help you change your mindset into a more positive hopeful mindset. 

Support - You will be in the group with people that are just like you. That have the same goal, maybe different reasons and what not but it is a place for you to just let it all out. I know that weight loss is usually a solo thing. I am STILL the only person in my home that eats the healthiest and I eat all the "weird" stuff. I am just used to doing it by myself but I KNOW that in the beginning when there is change around it is nice to have people around you that are going through the SAME THING! 

I also make it a little bit more personal by adding videos so it is as if you are hanging out with me and you will actually get to know ME and not the person who is writing. I have a LOT more personality outside of this blog ha ha! 

I want your journey to be one of value, seriously I do. I still keep in touch with every single person that has joined one of my groups and have created a genuine friendship with them and I want that for you. SO with that said here is a sample of what you may see in one of my challenge groups!

21 DAY FIX TEST GROUP

I have totally booked my first test group and was waiting to open another test group soon once I started hearing the results of my girls in the group.

One of them lost 3 pounds in 4 days and another one lost 4 pounds in 4 days! I seriously couldn't believe it myself. I have not gained any weight while on the program which is good. I am still right on target with my weight gain for my pregnancy and I am really happy about that. Ideally I would like to gain the 25-35 that is recommended and I was at the 35 pound weight gain part so if I could keep that in check by watching what I am eating than I would really like to do that. OK SO I digressed BIG time! HA HA!

So this challenge is going to start on the 3rd and end on the 24th of the month! I am sooo super excited to be able to assist you in reaching your goals!!!!! This will probably the last challenge that I hold in March for this because the meal plans that I am creating are uber time consuming!

Where do you find the time?

It's a question that I am asked often when it comes to fitting in my workouts. My answer, I do it when I can but make sure I get it done that day.




I used to have a set time to workout but I have not yet found my groove at my current duty station so things switch around. I love waking up in the morning and getting my workout knocked out and I would LOVE to do that but at this time my pregnant behind would have to wake up at 4:30 just to get the workout it and that would mean sacrificing family time by going to bed at 7. So, I now either workout during my lunch break (my job gives me 90 min) or right after work. Since I am doing Chalean Extreme the 30 minutes of quiet time after work to get my workout in really works for me and on the weekends I do my workout 1 hour after eating breakfast whenever it is that I wake up and actually get to it so it's anywhere between 9-11 in the mornings.

I have a few tips that may help you find your groove to finding time to get your workout in.

Write out your schedule - List everything that you do so that you can see what your day looks like.

Look for an open spot - Look for an open spot in your schedule if it is something like TV time or quiet time maybe try adding your workout in there giving up 30-60 minutes of your TV time to change your life is totally worth it.

Schedule your workout - Fit the time in for your workout and make it non-negotiable NO IF AND OR BUTS it is your workout time unless something comes up like a vacation, a sick child, you are sick, or something else that can deter you. It becomes your job your workout is something that you HAVE to do because you HAVE to take care of your body and health.

Have a back-up plan - Things happen we all know this life waits for no one so always have a plan B in mind. If I know that I can't workout at 5 PM than I make the time during lunch to workout or I will get up in the morning to get it done or switch my rest day if neither works out with my daily things to do that day or I just cancel on my girls night out but that would probably be when trying to lose this baby weight ha ha!

If you want to succeed than you will do what you have to do to make things work. You would take another shift at work just to get some extra cash to make ends meet or for some Christmas money think of your workout in that way. It is something that you have to do and is a component of a healthy lifestyle.

How bad do you want it and how far are you willing to go to go get it? Maybe you should revisit your goals and why you started this healthy lifestyle and relight your fire to get there.

21 Day Fix Chellenge Group!

I can't believe it is finally here!!!! I can tell you that this program is going to probably BLOW P90X out of the water ha ha ha! Beachbody is starting to get LOW on inventory so NOW is the time to shop before you have to wait until the end of March and if I were you I wouldn't even attempt that! Because when the next batch comes though ha ha it may be sold out too! My 21 Day Fix is on the way and I can't wait to get it!

Challenge Group FAQ


                                 


There are so many people out there that don’t really know what a challenge group is and it sounds kind of weird when someone is posting for their new one coming up. Unless you know what exactly I am talking about you probably have no clue.

I like to call mine weight loss challenges only because it is self explanatory. I don’t like giving people the wrong idea so here is a brief over view of what I do with my support groups so hopefully you will walk away from this well informed on what I do 

1. What is a challenge group?

It is a way for like minded people who want to lose weight to come together in a an online forum for motivation support and most of all accountability to get your workouts and healthy eating to become a priority in each other’s life. There are daily assignments, a meal plan, and your workouts.

2. What do I need to do in a challenge group?
You should have 5-10 minutes available daily to log onto facebook join and participate daily in the assignments. It will help build friendships and help all of you stay accountable and motivated.

3. Why would I benefit so much from a challenge group?
My opinion is that most people go on their weight loss journey by themselves. Ultimately you are doing this to change you but it’s always nice to have a cheerleader on the side. Occasionally you have a friend or two that come along but at some point if the whole group doesn’t participate you tend to let your goals fall to the wayside because it becomes a group thing and not an individual thing. Often times you go at this by yourself and when you lose steam there is no one there to pick you up which is why challenge groups are here. This way you have like minded people that all have the same goals and you are accountable to me, your coach and the members in your group.

4. What do I need to be in a challenge group?
To be in one of my challenge groups you will need to purchase or dig out and dust off one of your Beachbody workouts and purchase Shakeology. For the 21 days of the challenge you will be replacing one meal a day with Shakeology and completing your workout while following the meal plan provided or the one provided with your workout.

5. Why this challenge over any other?
Why  not? The only investment you will be making is an investment in your health. You have a workout and meal replacement shake that is top of the line and costs less than 2 sessions with a personal trainer or a few months gym membership. I mean seriously……..you wouldn’t even get anywhere with 2 trainer sessions and would you really make it to the gym every day? I don’t know only you can answer that question but throwing my workout clothes at home and not having to go anywhere is much more appealing to me than leaving my house and driving 20 minutes in rain, snow, or whatever to get my workout in. BUT to each his own and everyone has their particulars and way of doing things. This isn’t the way for everyone but why not stay open minded?



6. How can I sign up?
I really like to do an interview process for my challenge groups because I like to get to know an individual before actually getting them started. I really prefer to build relationships with people and let them know that I am truly there for them so that they can see that this isn’t just something that you are thrown into that perhaps maybe other coaches do. I truly care about your individual needs and want to get you through the challenge group with the BEST success possible! So if you would like

21 Day Fix FAQ







Recently I posted on my Facebook page about a 21 day program to lose 10 pounds. Here is what it said; 

If I could provide a 21 day workout program that's 30 minutes long, a meal plan with a way to deal with portion control so that you know what you will and won't be able to get away with, and in turn you lose 10 pounds would you be interested in doing it?

All about the 21 Day Fix Workout and Eating plan due out 2/3/14

Background:
The 21 Day Fix is a Beachbody program created by Autumn Calabrese. She is a Mom, fitness model, blogger at modernmom.com, and is a quadruple certified fitness trainer. She created the program for people that are struggling with their weight no matter what they do. It is a 21 day straight program that focuses on portion control. The best part is that you can essential eat whatever you want….the catch? It must fit in the appropriate container. You must workout 7 days a week for the 21 days and her tests groups the average weight loss was between 10 and 15 pounds.


It is bundled so that anyone can do it. I am pregnant right now and I am going to do the food part of the 21 Day Fix so that I can be the healthiest I can for me and my child. I know the workouts aren’t tailored for pregnant women but I will take a look at each one to see if I can manage any of them   I love love love that things are portioned out. This can be used by ANYONE men, women, breastfeeding moms, vegetarians; there is something in it for everyone!

Packages:
The challenge pack that includes Shakeology and the program is bundled at $140 with $2.00 shipping a savings of about $70 if bought and shipped separately.
The Base package itself is $60 with shipping.

In the base package you get;

Additional Details:
The beauty of this plan and why I like it so much is you get a list of foods for each thing like carbs, proteins and such. If it fits in the container than you can eat it no guilt allowed and NO CALORIE COUNTING! You can even have wine and chocolate. I mean come on! This is the easiest plan I think I have ever heard of I haven’t seen it yet!

 You will get a daily limit of how much of each food you can get based on your activity level which is genius because I won’t be eating the same as you. It’s totally individualized and I love that!!! While I don’t know exactly what the food lists look like I know that there is and will be something there for everyone.

For equipment you will need either dumbbells are best but resistance bands will work too.


I hope this answers most of the questions that you may have been curious in regards to this epic program. I think that overall this is going to be a game changer. I plan on doing this after I have my baby as well to help me lose the weight which hopefully isn’t too much but I want to get back into my pre-baby shape as soon as possible as I have a weight standard to uphold in the military. I will have more information on Jan 30th about the complete program and will be able to help more.

February 3-27th Fitness Support Group Details

I am starting a new challenge group this month and will continue to have one monthly. This challenge group is going to be 21 days in length and help you begin your healthy lifestyle. You will be with me long enough to be able to create a habit of healthy eating and exercise in addition to being motivated by seeing your pretty AMAZING results! 


You HAVE to be willing to keep an open mind and follow the rules of the support group. Please remember what your goals are and allow me to help you!

I do not charge anything extra for you to be a part of my challenges… I require is the following:
1. You must choose a Beachbody at-home fitness program. If you own one and that is the one that you want to do I am totally okay with that. If you need to purchase a program, make sure you ask me how you can save between 25-30% OFF by ordering your Shakeology and program together! I can also assist you in finding a program that meets your goals and lifestyle challenges. Just because for example, P90X worked for me, it may not work for you because you don't ave or want to make 1 and 1/2 hours to workout.
2. You must be willing to replace one meal a day with Shakeology for the 21 days and follow my nutrition guide. This is going to ensure you get the results you desire within the 21 day period of the challenge. Your nutrition  makes up 70% of your results… Therefore there will be a major emphasis on teaching you how to eat to FUEL your body during the challenge! With what you will learn from me in your challenge you will be able to carry it forward through out your fitness journey.
3. You must be open-minded and open to sharing & participate in the group DAILY. We have assignments/check ins that will help you overcome obstacles and grow as a person so you can see this as a lifestyle change and not a quick fix. Janurary 21 Day Challenge Group

I have done challenge groups before and I have noticed a trend in the participation and excitement happening in about the first 30 days of the challenge. It happens, life gets in the way and it challenges you and either you push through or you don't and sometimes having a 60 or 90 day challenge is HARD to commit to. I mean who knows where you are going to be in 90 days or what is going to be happening. SO I am going to start monthly 21 day challenge groups to help people who want to start their health and fitness lifestyle and stick with you long enough to make this a habit for you!

Being in a challenge group

This week marks the end of my first week with Turbofire. I have found my soul mate workout and it has been for some time now I just put it to the side to pursue other things. Anyhow, I am back to my workout and I LOVE that I am having fun while working out again. This time though I am in a challenge group.

I know right how crazy is it that a Beachbody Coach is in a challenge group? Well to be honest I am human and although I am an example and role model to some people I'm still me just a person like you. I go through struggles and there are times where I need support and motivation too. In order to be successful sometimes you have to admit defeat. This summer was that for me, I did not live with integrity and I followed the crowd which is turn made me neglect my body and my faith. I just walked away from it all and my body internally suffered from it. I even put on about 6 pounds, which to some is like whatever but to someone that is tiny like me it is a lot and it is noticeable. The number isn't the issue it's more the effect of all the negative things that I did to myself.




I stopped working out, I stopped eating as healthy and I reverted back to the ways that got me to the weight that I was after I had children. I was slowly climbing the ladder to being the "lazy" unhappy me that I once despised. SO I recently joined a challenge group.

It has probably been one of the best things that I have done for myself. I have eaten healthier this week than I have in months, in just one week I have more energy and my little fitness fire is back on which helped light the other fires in me that were dimming out. I was losing balance of who I was because I was paying attention to something that was getting me off track if you can understand what I mean.

I completed all of my workouts for the week and I am looking forward to week two. It is nice to be on the other side of the fence and see what it is like for some of you go through and how accountable the challenge makes you.

I am going to make a commitment here and now and say that I WILL participate IN EVERY challenge group that I sponsor from now on so that we can go through our things together and I will hopefully never fall off the wagon and sabotage and live a life without my integrity again.

Work it out! T25 Info

I just finished week 2 of Insanity and I can say that I am hella happy that I am slowly getting through this thing. It's weeks 6-9 that are going to be the killer lol.

My eating is getting better and my abdomen is looking better than ever. I have lost 7 inches all over since starting the program and THAT makes me excited. My weight is still fluctuating from 122-124 which I am okay with because salt and I have issues.....I am not too big on the scale thing I just want to stay in my sz 4s and not have anything floating over when I am standing up or having my upper thighs be stuffed like sausages in my jeans.

I am a pear shape and I primarily carry all of my weight in my upper thighs and abdomen when I do gain it so, me keeping at a certain size keeps those bad boys in check. 

I recently buckled and bought Shaun T's new workout T25, I really want to try it but I desperately want to be an Insanity graduate because I have done the darn thing 3 times with bailing on the 2 weeks to first month. I realized that Body Beast is not for me and bulking is not where I want to go in my fitness adventures so I will leave that to my husband to have ;) it's all good it is not for everybody and that is a ok with me :) I love the fact that I don't have to use any weights because I seriously am so cheap I don't want to go and buy 20 lb dumbbells ha ha ha! I know.....issues! 




So what is T25 all about?? I don't really know what the workout involves because I don't have it in hands I just bought it and it will be in the mail shortly BUT what I do know is this....

Insanity.......

SO! I remember posting a few days ago that I gained weight and inches in my upper things. I have a pear shaped body and most of my fat goes in the rear end hips and thighs. Tummy is the second place that all of that crap goes.

I noticed it happening because my shorts were fitting CRAZY tight around my legs. Once upon a time ago I hated the thought of wearing shorts and for that reason alone I got so excited when shorts didn't hug my thighs :) I don't want to buy new clothes, I want to wear the ones that I already have because I spent REALLY good money on my clothes and buying a bigger size than I normally wear for me is being okay with getting bigger and if I go there than I am just going to keep letting these little things compound right?

I just want to make it clear that I don't really care about how much I weigh, I sincerely care about my clothes fitting me and not having to buy a bigger size. Now don't get me wrong I am not a one size fits size. I have to buy a medium sometimes to get a better fit and that is okay with me I just don't want to be the bigger size ALL the time. I understand vanity sizing and all that marketing bologna but I can't stress enough I don't want to get bigger because I was already THERE.

I knew that Body Beast and the way that I was eating was not enough for me or maybe I was truly bulking and that's okay but my thighs got bigger and that is not something I want to compromise LOL. If you are a girl reading this I hope you understand lol.

This is where I started. THIS is where my journey began and THIS is NOT me. My weight doesn't define me but my confidence does and THIS girl is not confident. THIS girl had issues with her body, with her mind and she was scorned and in pain. This picture shows a girl who at that very moment decided to make a change in her life. SHE was going to be healthy and she was going to look like she once had before because she always said that kids will not stop her from having what she wanted.

Little did I know that I would be here today standing tall and confident and in love with who I am as a person inside and out. I am healthy and I LOVE that what I feel on the inside is showing on the outside. I am taking care of myself in more ways than one. This was me then and I want to stay where I am now and grow into a more loving and wiser person than I am today I want to keep moving forward and not looking back.

My thighs not fitting into those shorts while it may seem vain and insecure or whatever negative thoughts one would think it truly showed me that I was reverting into a life that I don't want to see again. It may have been my thighs but I was eating poorly, drinking a lot more than a glass or two of wine and it was not going to church. I was sliding backwards in all areas of my life and my body was telling me otherwise. So I started changing things.

I wake up early and pray to God and thank Him for all He has done. I workout and I am now currently doing Insanity and I am in LOVE with it! I also eat better I am writing down what I eat to keep accountable and I am doing my Bible Study and Bible reading everyday.

It is a great Bible study if you are interested in it. There is SO much I want to blog about in the coming days and I am glad that I am off work so that I can share with you all! I can't wait!!!

My daily diet

I often get asked what I eat and how I stay so slim. Now that I have been in maintence for over a year I feel that I can properly answer that question. I eat mostly the same things all the time and every few weeks add something new to the mix that I enjoy eating. I guess I go through phases but over all my dynamic is pretty much the same. So here is my daily TYPICAL diet.

Morning: 1 cup of coffee, non dairy creamer, 1 tsp organic sugar 2-3 egg whites, 1 turkey sausage patty with peppers, 1 slice of Ezekiel bread, 1 banana

Mid morning : Chicken, spinach salad, 1 banana, 1/2 c black beans

Lunch : Same sometimes a sandwich from my favorite deli

Mid-afternoon: Chicken, vegetable, rice and apple with peanut butter

Dinner : Chicken with broccoli with reduced sodium soy sauce

PM snack: Chocolate Vegan Shakeology. I typically crave LOADS of sugar at night for some reason and this is my cure all :)

Well there you have it my boring meal day! On the weekend I am more adventurous because I have the kitchen at my disposal but there you have it. I do not count calories I think that it is a waste of time and it is not accurate anyway, this plan here keeps me full and not hungry through out the day and my body responds well to it. I don't feel deprived and some days during the week I add snacks like pretzels and hummus and what not. i am not afraid of carbs and I eat them every day :)

Why it works!




I have been drinking this stuff called Shakeology for over a year now and I can say nothing bad about it! I love it so much and so glad that it is part of my daily life! I don't have cravings anymore, I have been able to maintain my weight, I don't get bloated and best of all I know that I am giving my body all natrual ingredients to keep it running at top performance. Another great thing is that I HAVE NOT BEEN SICK this winter or the one prior to that! I know that with out it I would have to supplement my body with so much more. I don't have to worry about OMEGA-3's fish oil and a multi-vitamin it's all in there! Can't beat that! :) See for yourself.

Epiphany!

Wow! What a weekend! We had a major snow storm and we have been out of power for some time and I have a LIST of blog posts that I want to share with you all. I am currently at work writing this in the hopes that when I get back home I will be able to post this on the blogger site. We have been out of power since Friday night and have about 1-1/2 feet of snow on the ground. Our area was affected by the snow storm the worst as about 80% of the area is still without power. One of the perks of being in the military is that we get power first because we are mission essential which is pretty darn amazing! :) I am ready to get back home into my house and to sleep on my own bed. I cannot wait but if the power isn't back by Tuesday night we are going to see if we can take off to go to Florida. I was going to go there anyway because I have the half marathon to run/walk on the 24th of this month! I am kind of hoping that we can leave early but in the same I want my home back!!! I am sure you can relate. 

Despite the snow storm in the Massachusetts area I went to Pittsburg for a Beachbody Challenge training. I have to say that it was pretty amazing. Not so much the training which had amazing information, but I was able to sit in a room with fellow coaches which was AMAZING for me! I had never attended any of the Beachbody events and was so happy that I attended this one. I flew in Friday morning and met my upline coach Kati Heifner. She is just as cute and bubbly as she appears to be online. She is just the sweetest thing! I adore her and her hospitality was AMAZING! I have nothing but good things to say about her. I met Emily and Jess whom were sisters and Alyssa and Christine. I know you don't know them but WOW what a great bunch of people. It wasn't weird or awkward or anything just total ease. We shared tips and motivated each other to progress into our businesses which was pretty amazing!!!! I had come to a few epiphanies during the whole process and being mentored is exactly what I needed and put me back on the right track! I can say that there will be changes coming in the future with myself and this blog.

You will be able to find more recipes and nutrition help and workout reviews. I will also have my own YouTube channel so that way I can interact with my readers and those that enjoy a good video. I can't wait for all of you reading to watch me grow! It is something that I am scared and curious of!

Feb 4th Challenge Group!

I have been hosting challenge groups for over a year now and these groups have had soooo much success I am hosting another one! If you are wondering what a challenge group is here is some information!

What is a Fitness Challenge Group?
A Challenge Group is a small group of like minded people all working together to help each other succeed in their weight loss journey.

The fact is – I could sell you P90X or Shakeology, earn some money for referring you to the program, and send you on your journey alone without a clue as to what eating healthy and doing this program really entails and who likes to workout by themselves without any support? Many coaches do this but that is NOT what I am all about! I want YOU to succeed. I want you to feel good about yourself and I want you to reach your goals and see your potential and hopefully change how you view food and get the word DIETING out of your vocabulary! Chances are without a coach, and without that support group there to hold you accountable, you are likely to fall through the cracks and never see changes in your life. Challenge Groups help people get the BEST results possible.

What is my commitment as a Challenger?
The commitment is 60 or 90 days of your preferred Beachbody workout program, Shakeology every day and a private Facebook accountability page for daily mini challenges, support and motivation.
–You do everything at home, on your time and your schedule.
–Group interaction is all done on a private Facebook group where the team posts each day.
