What the best diet advice?

Hello readers!!!

I often get asked: "What did you do to lose weight?" "What did you eat?" I think this is a pretty normal routine question because many people are curious ( I was one of them.) They either want to adapt your eating style and see you as motivation which is REALLY super awesome but here's the thing.....you may like black beans and the person you are talking to or you like broccoli and they don't etc and then guess what they are derailed or think that they can't do the "weight-loss" thing and back out or you are on this super popular diet and they jump on too because blah blah so and so did it.

SO HERE IS SOME ONE SIZE FITS ALL ADVICE......

1.) Fad diets do not work! Nope you end up being that yo-yo dieter and you WILL feel like a failure.

2.) You HAVE to eat your fruits and veggies. YUP I said it VEGGIES! Now here's the thing about vegetables. You can usually buy 1 of them.......so buy one whip it up in a recipe that you would enjoy the ingredients too and try it out. Don't give up on it the first time. I don't like zuchinni on a regular but for some reason when I throw it into my chicken soup or I have it dipped in something I enjoy it better than just plain sauteed.

3.) Eat when you are hungry. Yup I said it EAT when you are HUNGRY! Now here's the deal....don't go eating a big meal here. Eat a decent sized breakfast 2 eggs, 2 slices turkey bacon, 1 piece of toast then for a snack have an apple with PB then a 6 inch sub (the less that 3g of fat menu) from Subway for lunch the maybe another small snack then a decent dinner of Salmon, brown rice and broccoli. Sometimes you FEEL HUNGRY when you are thirsty so when in doubt and you ate like 5 minutes ago chug some water and see if you are still hungry.......when I am needing more calories I usually go for a fruit or veggie because it satisfies my hunger and it's low in calories.

4.) THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT ONE!

DO NOT EAT ANYTHING PROCESSED. IF IT WAS MADE BY A MACHINE AND NOT A FARMER IT SHOULD NOT GO IN YOUR FACE!  Don't do it. It's that simple the only thing that you should be buying in a bag or a box is MAYBE a granola bar, rice (brown), Oats, and whole wheat pasta. THAT IS ALLLLLLLLL! SHOP AROUND THE PERIMETER OF THE GROCERY STORE! THE ISLES ARE THE DEVIL!

This is what your grocery shop should look like.

Ok I am done my rant that is the one size fits all advice to EATING HEALTHIER and LIVING A SLIM(er) FIT LIFE

This Blog!

Well this is my do over first post. I AM in love with everything fitness and I couldn't be more excited to have more of a different direction in this blog. I wanted to make this blog about just that MY Fitness-y Life! SO here I am Jeannette ready to blog all things fitness and basically my life. I wanted to create this blog so that I could share my fitness struggles with the world, talk about the little things in my life so that I don't look like a one trick pony, and I wanted somewhere that I could post my photography. :D So this is my life blog even though it will be more centered around fitness.

So who am I? Well I am a lot of things. I am a daughter, sister, mother, wife, Coastie, Personal Trainer, Photographer, Beachbody Coach, Student. I am just Jeannette! I am 29 with 2 children, married and in the Coast Guard. That is my life. I enjoy fitness because it makes me feel good and helps me to be a better person :) I love my kids and I love documenting their growth through pictures! I love love love photography! :D

So onto my Fitness-y Life....

For those of you that are new here is a pict-o-graphy of my fitness journey..........

The top is my before this was the biggest and most uncomfortable I have ever been. The third picture down is after working out for 7 months in the gym on my own, and the last picture is from a few weeks ago. I went from 142 to 120 in a year and have maintained my weight loss for 9 months. It has been a struggle but none the less I have done it! I have had mishaps with too many Sour Patch Kids and too many fatty type foods. I am human and not a machine! I do take time to enjoy life and the food that it has to offer as long as it is all natural :)
